I live in a 1930 NYC apartment with an original St. Charles kitchen. As is the fashion here, our cabinets are in their 'raw' metal state: all paint stripped. They're beautiful but, after 10 years, they are in need of re-doing: there is a slight sign of surface rust showing, spots, etc.

Does anyone have a suggestion 1) how to bring back the lustrous unfinished look to the cabinets and 2) how to ensure that the surface retains this look? (PS I will not be removing the cabinets.)

Many thanks for suggestions!
