I just bought a house with about 1000sf of parquait (sp?) flooring that has a blonde-washed off stained finish. The finish is trashed- no gouges though. I was wondering if there is a way to refinish the floors and stain them a darker color. Sanding them would be difficult because the grain changes every 6". I could try an orbital sander or I could try a chemical stripper but I'm concerned about dissolving the glue that holds the wood together. Any ideas???
