Tiling bathroom walls around shower/bath and elsewhere. Everyone has a different opinion, including the "how=to" books. Do you install a waterproofing membrane over wonderboard or not? If so, where do you get it. The tile store has not suggested it, neither has one of the major do-it-yourself stores.

I used waterproof drywall,instead of wonderboard,on walls.

If your tub/bath is on an outside wall, you want to make sure you have a moisture barrier (plastic sheeting is great) attached (stapled)to the inside surface of the wall studs. This is a good time to put up insulation if you don't already have it. The wonderboard will then go directly over the moisture barrier. The tile will be cemented directly to the wonderboard

I had to redo an older tile shower area. Instead of adding board, I shellaced the existing board to water proof it.
