Wondering waht techniques folks have used to install a hardwood floor on top of a concrete slab foundation. I was condisering doing the following:
1. Vapor barrier on concrete, taped at overlapped seams.
2. Treated 1 by 4 s at 18 inch centers (staggered).
3. Nail wood planks to treated timbers.

Do I really need to anchor treated timbers with concrete nails etc.?

Should I fill in voids with carpet padding?
