I am trying to remove linoleum from a ceramic tile floor. Unfortunately, the linoleum has a tar paper backing, and has to be scraped off the tile. I don't want to scratch the tile. Does anyone have any suggestions for a solvent or other method of removing tar paper without scratching the underlying surface?
