I'm think about putting wood laminate flooring down in my kitchen. There are two types of flooring available; the normal stuff (not meant for kitchens) and a thicker kind - suitible for kitchens and bathrooms. The thicker flooring is 10 times the price, so I was wondering whether I could get away with laying the cheaper stuff and varnishing it to protect it from spills.
also what sort of underlay would I need?
