I am laying pergo select tiles in my kitchen. Observing a dry run I laid out I noticed a little hump in the middle of the run. I then took a 3' level at the crest and noticed i have abt a 1/2" on either side. How should I correct before laying the pergo tiles down? Note: I am installing over the exstg. vinyl floor. Using the glue style pergo tiles. Thanks for any help!

The vinyl floor will have to be removed and the hump either sanded or ground down to make the floor flat, or a leveling compound used to feather it out. Either way the old floor has to come up. The leveling compound will not adhere to the vinyl.

Glenn, The whole floor or just the affected area?
