We are renovating a cabin in Northern Wisconsin. We are thinking about installing wood flooring throughout the whole place. I have only seen the flooring I am looking for at a lodge that we went out to eat at. It was very rough and had some gaps between the planks. I know this sounds kind of industrial but with all the traffic that is going to be tracked in (fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, etc.) I really think the rough "lodge look" type floor is what I am looking for. Where can I view and purchase a commercial grade flooring that I am describing.
it may not be commercial,it could be "cabin grade" hardwood . cabin grade hardwood is usualy short pieces, stained very dark (to cover the knots )sometimes wire brushed ,that gives it a rough surface.its also the least expencive wood you can buy.(good for a big commerical job) call around youl local flooring stores, the big box stores wont carry this. good luck
You mean stuff like this? It's the new rage from what I saw at the recent Surfaces Flooring convention in Las Vegas. Hard to find for the time being...give it a few months and it will probably be everywhere.
