We had Durastone professionally installed throughout our first floor. Now the tiles appear to be shrinking leaving gaps between the tiles. We had our installer out to inspect the installation and he brought along a representative for Congoleum who told us the spaces between the tiles are within "acceptable limits". I was told that if you could stick a credit card between the tiles, then you have a problem. I think this is excessive. Anyone else seeing this problem?

if you feel that "acceptable limits" is not acceptable, tell them you want an indepent inspector to look at the floor.(poss your local contractor board) was the floor acclimated before it was installed? did they use the correct adhesive? was the floor installed on a proper underlayment? was the room at the correct temp.? good luck

We have been in contact with an independent inspector. Hopefully he will agree with us. I have digital pictures of two playing cards stuck in the gaps on top of each other. My concern is in a kitchen environment, things are going to collect in those gaps. There were problems with several other installations in our area during the same time period. It was very hot outside, but was air conditioned inside. Product was delivered two days before installation. It was installed by a very reputable dealer.
