We live in a 2 story twin home and need our old aluminum siding replace with vinyl. Neighbor attached also wants the work done.
Small house with about 11 squares per house and front first floor wall is faux stone so not included.
We have fairly new soffits which will stay and only want the window retrimmed. No spouting either.
Job consists of replacing aluminum on second floor, studding out brick first floor to cover with siding and going over T-111 enclosed back porch.
The estimates are very high I think. (We live in NE PA and home worth about $80,000).
I think they look at it as TWO jobs and got estimates so far of $5950, $4500 and even $7000. Those numbers are PER SIDE so double that for the entire house. $14,000!!???
Only difference I can see is the $5950 will use Tyvek wrap underneath where the other estimates said an "insualtion board".
My question is why the range, how to determine who to hire and don't these prices seem high for no soffits or spouting?
(We are looking to use Mastic Brentwood or Certainteen Monogram which is about $50 per square as far as I can tell.)
Any advice please!!
