Would it be a fairly easy project to remove an oak hardwood floor(inch and a half by three eighths) and install it in another house, or would it be too costly?

I know that this reply is about 9 years late, but this is for future users.
I am in the process of reusing a hardwood floor, and my feeling is: If you have more time than you do money, then go for it. Once you get the hang of pulling up boards, it goes pretty easy, although you will feel pretty sore. Also, getting the nails out is tricky==don't even try, just cut them.
But if the floor is in good shape, just keep telling yourself that pre-finished oak can go for $4=6 per Sq Ft. It doesn't take long for the bucks to add up.
Good luck to anyone who tries this--I think that you'll find it challenging, yet satisfying once you're done.

I can somewhat agree with you on that. But overall, I think it's best just to get new hardwood all together. It can be too much of a hassle
