Bvflooring
I recently ordered some flooring and I've found out that there are many types and prices of adhesives. The store from which I ordered sells something called Bostic for around $110 per 5 gal, while 1 of the hardware stores sells Roberts glue for about half that, what's up the glue?

I'm installing 3" Australian Cypress (1/2" thick) in Florida.

your flooring glue is just like any other product. you have different grades of glue as anything else .. and the more expensive brands have better performance.

If it's an engineered Aussie cypress you could go with the Bostiks engineered adhesive that runs in the $75.00 range. Roberts may be an option but they know carpet and not hardwood floors.

Actually, the floor is 1/2" thick solid Australain cypress. If Bostik is available for around $75, I need to shop around since they are asking over $100 per tub.

Forget the Roberts if it's a water base...it'll tear up the solid Aussie Cypress(cupping). Forget the $75.00 Bostiks---it's designed for engineeered only and not solids.

I've seen and heard too many shortcuts that result in failures. If you have a happy house and want to keep it that way please take my advice into serious consideration.

I ended up with Bostick's Best at $115 per 5 gallon bucket. Good price since it usually around $145-150.
