My stairway has marble tiles. The person who installed them previously used some sort of plastic edge guards that are anchored down by the tiles. The guards are now breaking and tearing. Is there a way to fix this? Would it make sense to put down new edge guards over the existing ones, or is the best solution to tear out all the tilework and redo it? Any ideas?

i'm not sure what these plastic edges could be ,they may be schluter bars.go to www.schluter.com and look around at that site.take a photo or two and take them to a tile store,they can advise you from there. ...good luck
