Bvflooring
I have recently moved into a home where animals reigned free all over the carpets that I am about to tear up! There are hardwood floors beneath the carpet and it is my intention on manually refinishing them (hands and knees sanding). Is there any specific prep-work that I should do to the flooring to ensure that my own animals do not continue the trend left behind?

the only thing i can think of is to clean the wood flooring with an ammonia and water solution ( this of course is very bad for the wood, but you plan on refinishing)......good luck

after you use amonia, a good wood sealer should keep the scent away, so as not to invite your own pets to continue to mark the territory
