you will need to decide if you wish to refinish or just fill the cracks,however your local flooring supply house will have somthing for you to improve the situation...good luck

Just returned from my favorite local hardwood flooring haunt (I must have NO life!)

Carpetman is, of course, correct--best to ask your flooring experts--but when I asked mine this question they recommended "Bruce Acrylic Filler."

I myself have a whole floor I'm working on--different story than what you've got going, I believe. For me they recommend troweling in Latex wood filler over the entire floor (after the coarse sanding). This comes in gallons. But I thought I'd share this too in case you have more going on.

If patti is refinishing she can use a commercially made filler or make her own wood dough out of the sanding dust and linseed oil to pack in before the final sanding, but if she just wants to hide the cracks, a good wax job with bucher's wax can fill them fairly well, and protect the wood too.
