Hi!

I have some original chair-rail tile from my 1908 row house that was salvaged by the previous owner. I'd like to re-use this tile in a new bathroom I am installing in the house. The tile needs some cleaning and removal of some mortar caked on the back of some of the tiles.

Can anyone offer suggestions on how to remove the old mortar with damaging the beautiful tiles?

Thanks!
