Bvflooring
Hi guys, I've just had new lino laid on the kitchen floor. It went over the existing lino and all the floor-layers had to do was "screed" the bad patches. I now have it in my head to lay a leftover piece in the laundry, myself. The floor there is A LOT more problematic than the kitchen but I'd still like to give it a try. My question is, what IS screed and is there any glueing involved once I lay the lino down? (Unfortunately I wasn't paying enough attention at this point.) Help / advice appreciated!

ps. Great site!

what they did i think ,was to prep the floor.you do this with a cement based floor patch.mix up the patch and trowel it over the floor(use the smooth side of the trowel)you fill in any low spots, let it dry, sand smooth if ness. then spread your adhesive and lay your lino......good luck

If there is an existing vinyl you will go over, a floor patch will not do. You will need an embossing leveler. It dries harder.
