Hey Folks,
And Thanks in advance,I am redoing my bathroom, I am going to tile the bath room, Here is my question, I am going to also replace the toilet,Can i remove the toilet then tile, and then place my new toilet over the freshly layed tile. this will save me alot of effort or will the new bowl going to be unstable sitting ontop of tile.

Hope this makes sense..

You can do exactly that. When my wife tiled our bathroom, she cut the tiles to fit around the toilet. That was a pain.

A plumber then needed later to remove our toilet to snake out our sewer line and he laughed. He said we should have done what you are suggesting. He also was unable to return the toilet to its exact spot without messing up the grout adjacent to the toilet.

I told him we had been concerned that the additional height resulting from the tile would somehow screw up how the toilet fits. He said it wouldn't.

Go ahead.
