Due to a major pipe burst in our home, two floors of our house will have to have the hardwood floors replaced because of serious warping. We have a 100-year-old tudor home and would like to preserve the integrity of the house. What is better: hardwood planks that will need to be sanded and polyurethaned, or those pre-stained, pre-polyurethained planks?
Also, our basement will need new tiling. Right now there is generic Armstrong commercial tiling, but I want something a bit nicer looking, yet as durable and as thick as those commercial tiles. Any suggestions? We sometimes get water coming in, so they have to be durable.
