I planted mums,astres,barberry, golden vicory etc this past summer. I live in Ohio and am wondering if I need to mulch in the items? I have acess to a lot of leaves. Thanks

Each one of the plants you mentioned has its own likes and dislikes.Mums, for example,need straw or small evergreen branches (they don't like leaves).The plants also have requirements before putting them to bed for the winter.
The information you need for Ohio can be found at your states cooperative extension system.Many of their publications are free and once you locate them,you'll find them a valuable resource (I send them soil samples each spring to find out ph levels and fertilizer requirements).
