I have been aproached by an award winning time man who has been published in Ladies Home Journal and other publications. He is offering a custome tile design that I like very much.

A friend claims he can do the same tile job for less. Should I chance it?

You can ALWAYS find someone to do a job for less and as a general rule, you will get what you pay for in this business with maybe ten percent of exceptions on either end.

But it sounds also - on this question - like you are also being offered a "Design" service. If you use his design without paying him, that is theft of intellectual property. If he can demonstate that it has happened, he can win a case in court against you. I would bet that if he has been so widely acclaimed, he has learned how to protect his rights and has records for documentation.

Excellence is its own reward!
