You really need to dig these out to get rid of them.Trying to spray them next year with a herbicide will be tricky.I am not aware of any other method to get rid of them.

Matches is right. The BEST solution is to dig them out.

I did some WEB-searching and did read that there are Herbicides for the vines, but it's only for 'new growth'. A chemical called D-24 was one. However, it did say that it will kill ANYTHING that moves or don't moves. As always, read the info BEFORE you leave the store to be SURE it's what you want and you have the right 'tools' for the job.

Morning Glory is an ANNUAL!!! It dies each winter. Any growth next year is caused by the seeds that fell in the fall. You don't need herbacides or any other chemicals.

Now, if you are in an area without hard freezes, you may need to pull them out.
