CAN YOU LAY CERAMIC TILES OUTDOORS OVER CONCRETE?I'M LOOKING TO FINISH A BBQ PIT AREA AND I WANT TO LAY CERAMIC TILES--1 FOOT SQUARE OVER A 6FT.X 6FT AREA.CAN IT STAND UP TO THE WEATHER AND FROST OF WINTERS OUTDOORS...PLEASE ADVISE AND IF YOU HAVE ANY HELPFUL HINTS PLEASE FEEL FREE TO EMAIL ME AT...........patslaney@hotmail.com

You can set tile outside but in a freeze/thaw area it needs to be a porcelain tile or a quarry tile, these types wont absorb moisture to the point where they can freeze and crack. A good modified thinset must also be used to set the tiles. The grout should be one that can be mixed with a latex additive, rather than water, to reduce water absorption. Check the back of the bag or ask someone on the showroom floor if their grout can take the additive. Some cant and say so on the bag.
