Hello everyone,
My questions concern retiling a 2nd floor bathroom in my place (103 yr. old Victorian). Originally, the bathroom had a vinyl sheet for flooring, but I tore that up and I am going to replace it with 2" octagonal tile. The floor is 1" douglas fir with 3/8" plywood on top (the original backing for the vinyl). The joists are 2x8 douglas fir as well, spaced 16" OC. I also have a cast iron clawfoot tub that will be going into this bathroom. I'm wondering if the floor will be stiff enough (deflecometer says OK), so my plan was to apply Redguard for waterproofing and then lay the tile on top, but I guess I wanted to double check with the experts....
Did I miss anything?
Thanks in advance,
Adam
