I've done a decent amount of research on the Alvis Spray On Siding product and must say I don't like what I've seen so far. Can anyone out there address these concerns? The biggest issues seem to be regarding the suspect warranty and the actual ability of the product to hold up over any length of time, particularly in cold climates where it hasn't really been tested.

i have not heard of this products before. i like real stained siding(but vinyls easy too)that can move with the seasons of cold and heat.the amount of movement that this product would have to expand and contract over an entire wall surface would be something to see.
interesting stuff i suppose if the surface is prepared properly. like no rot or moisture. chemically cleaned.windows caulked properly. everything protected with plastic from overspray.not too much material applied.
an interesting one is the installers do not always have to guarantee their own work. the company guarantees the product, but with out an installer guarantee ,you are screwed.
it's appears to be all in the preparation before installation.
this appears to be one of those products where if you get the 1000 job crew and not the first time crew, that it could be good. but the temperature thing seems to be a thing to check up on. it may be flexable at minus 18 celcius, but then it has to go to plus 30 celcius in the summer, and back again. if the old siding under is also moving then there is a conflict.

You are correct in being concerned about the warranty of this product. Lets face it nothing last 20 years on the outside of a house even the paint on your car won't look brand new 20 years down the road. There are to many variables with a house such as moisture from within and without that can cause peeling and rot. It is a very thick flexible product but how long will it stay flexible and the added weight can actually cause the paint on an older house to peel.
I don't feel that with it costing 3 to 4 times what a regular paint job would cost it is worth laying out all that money at once or worse yet financing it is a good decision to make.
