I am going to have some carpet replaced (along with new baseboards). What gives the best result, installing baseboards after carpet is laid or before?

Thanks,

Art

I've always done it before. I don't think that you'll want your baseboards on top of your carpet, so you'll want to p[ut them in first.

yes by all means place the baseboards in first and keep them at least 1/2" to 3/4" above the subfloor for a tackless wall to wall carpet and pad installation, as it wil llast longer, loook better, and adds to ease of install.
