We just purchased a house that has 2"pinewood strips for the flooring, walls and ceilings. They are very pretty but they are really dark stained. Any suggestions on the best way to lighten the color and re-polyeurothene. Take into consideration that the house is 3000 sq ft.

sanding and refinishing ... no other way to do it, unless you want to paint them.
