My mother insists that removing my carpeting will make my house colder -- is there any truth to this?
I have two cats and two dogs, so I plan to get something for my living room that's easy to install, very durable, doesn't stain, and washes up easily.
I joked with my mom that I was going to put down G-Floor garage flooring in my living room -- it would be a fashionable sand color so why not!

- Removing carpet -- will it make the house colder?
it will only make the house colder if there is a draft the carpet is blocking/sealing.
This appears in many older homes that havent used advanced newer construction technology in weatherproffing that we use today in home building.
That said, even if the temperature doesnt change, some feel a hard surface is colder walking on becasue of less insulating properties that carper and cushion exhibit.
Area rugs to the rescure !
