I have 2 tile intact (the tile are OK they did not break) of ceramic floor tile that lifted up from the foundation. I need/want to use those 2 pieces again. I need to remove the old mortor and replace it with new mortor. What is the best way to do this?

When I have done this, I used a stiff painters tool, it is basically a scrapper with a sharp edge. Worked well in my application. You need to wear eye protection and know that their isn't any gas leaks. Steel may spark.
