He cut out an entire 3 x 4 piece of floor that goes between the opposite wall and the sunking room and pulled it up, relayed a piece of sub floor that is 3/4" thick to the edge ..the rest of the floor is 5/8ths, so they were not the same heighth...so he pullled up the little pad that goes under the pergo to get the height level again and then stapled the piece back down.
The he cut the extra box of pergo up into little pieces and tried to match the little squares up along the edge to preserve the pattern and the stapled them into place. The joints are not square and the seams of what he relayed are not even and and the floor is not solid to walk on now that the pad is gone.
Pergo PO 2300 has been discontinued since 2002 and I have called around the country looking for a few boxes. I can't find any. So I don't have any material to correct what he has done or to finish the long side of the stair edge he didn't start to work on yet. I don't have enough money to replace the whole floor.
Any advice would be appreciated.
