Although well-versed in roofing matters, I've only done some siding and soffits here or there. But am thinking on doing some in addition to the roofing {many roofers also do the siding}. Although I plan on educating myself through installation instructions, etc. I'm wondering if there are any True Siding professionals lurking around here.

I have 1 customer who wants to replace the siding on her home. I'm thinking about just removing all the old siding, and replacing it with traditional wood fiber hardboard siding {not the cement/fiber hardboard}. Is there any real drawback to this, other than the extra time it takes to remove it? The current siding is an older wood/fiberboard product that resembles hard cardboard.

This is all lap siding by the way. She'll NOT be replacing the windows either.
