I had a wood floor installed in my den 1 1/2 years ago and noticed a gradual stain appearing along one edge of the room shortly after installation. It has gradually enlarged, and this edge abuts to an outside wall. The outside wall over the stained area has a weep hole at ground level. I'm wondering if the weephole is leaking water in or if it is plugged and not allowing moisture to evaporate. Any ideas or who I might contact for advice?

If it was carpet was there mold in that area.

Does the rain water around your house slope to this area or away?

Carpet was on the floor before we had the wood floor installed and we saw no evidence of mold at the time. The installers never mentioned any problem with mold in that area when installing the wood. The weep holes are at our patio's level and it is not a place that holds water during a rain. It is under a window, if that makes any difference. The patio is covered and the patio slab has a slope to it away from the house slab.
