My toolshed had asphalt roofing that is in one large roll that is worn out and has the roof leaks in spots leading to wood rot. It is a detached tool shed and I do not want to spend a fortune to reroof it. Any ideas? Should I replace with shingles or where can I buy rolls of asphalt or tin roofing?

Either one will work just fine. Rolled roofing is cheaper, not as durable. You should lay down a layer of 15 or 30lb. felt first.
The painted corrugated steel panels, available at H.D. or Lws is better. It would need an underlayment to.....although, being a tool shed, I guess it depends on how valuble your tools and structure is.
