I would like to lay concrete board over my concrete basement floor and then lay tile on top of the concrete board. I have about 300 sf to lay.

The reasons are it will help level out the floor, it will go over the expansion cracks that have been cut in the concrete floor, and it will match the level of the rest of the floor in the basement.

I plan on attaching the concrete board with screws into the concrete floor. (4 to 6 screws per concrete board I believe will hold it steady.)

My question is: has anyone done this and if so, does anyone have any advice?
