I don't know whether anyone else has ever tried this... can we have our floors sanded down and left unfinished?

We bought +/-100 sf of Brazilian Teak 1 .5 yrs ago & I installed it. It looked fabulous for about 8 months. Then the al. oxide '25 yr' finish started exhibiting tiny white bubbles in sections with the grain, very random although most is in traffic area. A Hdwd inspector (yes that's a profession) was called in and says this is an "outgassing" problem common with brazilian teak (& 1 other braz. wood) and we can refinish but could expect the same results. The flooring co threw 1/2 of our $ back at us to re-finish but say we're lucky to get that because this "wasn't a finish failure problem" We want to get rid of this look but don't want to throw good $ after bad... Any thoughts?

The problem you have can happen with some exotic hardwoods, especially some of the rainforest exotic hardwood species. If you still want a Brazilian hardwood look without the downfalls and is budget-friendly, Quick-Step DecorWood offers a Brazilian Walnut option.
