A small amount of discoloration occurs around the base of my bathroom sink faucets. If I take a small toothbrush, I can remove it but I'd like it not to happen in the first place. Anyone have suggestions? Thank you!

Hi,
Without seeing a picture, I have a couple of guesses based on experience. If you have hard water, it can build up where water is left to evaporate. And in the guest bathroom (which is the kids' bathroom), the splash from the kids washing their hands, leaves the area around the faucet wet. When they don't dry it off, it turns orange. That's partly caused by hard water and the soap scumming up.
Bleach might help you go longer between cleanings but I'm not sure there's a way to end it permanently.
