Pedestal Sink Attached to Wall ... How?
I'm going to buy American Standard's Retro Ped Bath Sink. Has anyone installed this sink? I'd like to know how it is installed to the wall. Is that a plate that goes on the wall (over the studs)? How hard is it to install? If hardware (plumbing) needs to be updated, would a plumber be able to do the whole job? Since the post is not holding the sink up, really, does it work fine on a ceramic tile floor? Photo attached. Thanks!
We don't have this exact one but do have a newer pedestal sink. The top rests on the post and fastens into the studs with bolts. Yours looks like it has more room underneath than ours (which tapers into a bowl) which should make installation a little easier.
Plumbers around here would install the whole thing.
Yes, you could install it on a tile floor.

I once was interested in installing something similar in my kitchen but gave up in the end because I had no idea how to do so to my wall and engaging a contractor would defeat the whole purpose of DIY.
