Bob focuses on the decorative interior finish work at the modern Colonial. First, he meets New England artisans Polly and Ken Forcier, who stenciling in the parlor. Ken explains how he uses a series of stencils to create a multi-layer design, and Bob tries his hand at the process. Offsite, Bob tours a selection of famous parlors featuring American decorative arts.

Bob returns to Winterthur, the historic du Pont estate, to tour the Tappahannock Room (circa 1740). Highlights from the display include a chest thought to be the first deliberate acquisition in du Pont's American furniture collection. Also on display is a William & Mary-style high chest and an antique fireplace mantel painted in a green Henry du Pont described as "a perfectly swell color."
