Hand-Stitching Carpets
Bob looks on as a small kitchen is finished up in the private section of the governor's mansion. State-of-the-art appliances like the GE Advantium oven help create a more practical, efficient space for the first family.
In the bedrooms, a recycled carpet is being put down, while downstairs, in the Ladies' Parlor, fancy-patterned Wilton carpet from England is stitched together in the traditional manner.
Last, local artist Elaine Haviland is in her studio in Richmond's elaborately restored Landmark Theater, demonstrating how she creates the mahogany wood grain finish for the doors.
