Touring the Remodeled Interior
Homeowners Jeanne Sanviti-Masher and David Masher walk Bob through the finished Rowley Victorian. The open-plan dining, cooking, and entertaining area is practical and stylish, with a center island, Silestone counters, and an appliance wall complete with warming drawer and semi-custom Merillat cherry cabinets. The homeowners chose Pella French doors and custom Pella windows to transition from the interior to the western red cedar deck and gardens beyond. Phantom Screens allow ventilation in warm weather and roll into side panels when not in use. Smith & Noble fabric panels, Roman shades, and new hardware dress the windows, while FrontGate outdoor furnishings carry the luxury of indoors outside. Sunbrella fabrics, an all-weather teak table and chairs, synthetic wicker-look couches, and a synthetic rug make outdoor living chic and hardy. The grill station completes the outdoor room with cultured stone facing, granite tops, and a built-in Vermont Castings Signature gas grill.

Episode 2 - Foundation Work, Roofing, and Installing French Doors
Description:
Bob and contractor Tim Berky review the newly poured foundation that's been pointed in order to blend with the existing Victorian foundation. The new 5' x 16' mudroom addition is framed and topped with a hip roof that will be sheathed in copper. Also, Berky and his crew install new Pella French doors. These solid-wood framed, double-paned, argon-filled, low-e glass doors let in light, retain warmth, prevent heat gain, and have a triple-latch system for added security. -
Episode 3 - Exterior Trim and Spray-Foam Insulation
Description:
The Queen Anne Victorian addition is ready for clapboard siding to match the existing façade and trim. Inside, the demolition is complete, the chimney stack has been removed, and a custom steel structural support has been placed where the load-bearing dining-room wall once stood. Insulation specialists explain, and begin to install, the expanding foam, closed-cell insulation. Outside, contractor Tim Berky completes a custom backerboard and transitional bed molding to match the original 1890s molding. -
