Preparation for painting the exterior continues, as the crew sands, scrapes, grinds, and strips its way to a smooth surface before priming. Bob plays hooky and takes a tour of the nearby CBS Studio Center, the first of the big movie lots, which eventually gave Studio City its name. Bob even gets a private tour of the set of the series Grace Under Fire, and meets a few interesting characters along the way.

Part 1: Exterior Paint Stripping and Priming: Bob examines the exterior of the home, where several layers of paint are removed, and contractor Cortney Lofton explains the techniques and tools used to restore the original windows. Before painting can begin, priming is the final step.
