Exterior Paint Stripping and Priming
Preparation for painting the exterior continues, as the crew sands, scrapes, grinds, and strips its way to a smooth surface before priming. Bob plays hooky and takes a tour of the nearby CBS Studio Center, the first of the big movie lots, which eventually gave Studio City its name. Bob even gets a private tour of the set of the series Grace Under Fire, and meets a few interesting characters along the way.

Bob observes the reconditioning of the original Sears kit house windows. Then, he takes a tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House, which is just over the hill in Hollywood. On the back porch, the contractors are disguising the steel supports for the roof by sleeving them into wooden columns. -
