Project: Ranch Expansion, Episode 2, Part 1

With many of the old walls demolished, construction of new walls has begun. Bob takes a look at the construction flow chart with contractors Bob Ryley and Larry Landers. Then Bob visits one of Boston's hidden historical treasures, the Shirley-Eustis Colonial Governors' Mansion. Back at the site, Ryley and Landers show how the old roof is removed to make room for a new second floor.
Part 1: Shirley-Eustis Colonial Governor's Mansion Tour
Bob meets with Lynn from the Shirley-Eustis Colonial Governor's Mansion Association. Together they tour the Federal-style home, noting an Irish crystal chandelier, wood columns and moldings, plaster cornices, and other unique features of the home.
Part 2: Roof Removal
Bob takes on the expansion of a 35 year-old ranch house in Wayland, MA. With an eye on the budget, projects include European kitchen cabinets, a state-of-the-art closet system for the master bedroom, custom built-in bookshelves, an eye-catching fan detail on the front fa├žade, and a private deck off the master bedroom.
