I had a new roof put on last fall. when the roofers flashed the chimneys and where the roof met the brick wall they ran the flashing about 2-3 feet up the brick and they caulked it in. This spring I developed leaks around the chimney and I called back the contractor to repair this. They admitted that the flashing was not done correctly and that this was the cause of my leak. They made the repair, leak fixed. I made them redo all the flashing and they did with no problem. HOWEVER, now instead of the flashing running 2-3 feet up the brick, it runs 12-18 inches. I feel that this is still to high and just doesn't look right against the brick. --how far up a wall should flashing be? --maybe 18 inches up is the right thing to do? I need some ammunition for when I call thse clowns back for a 3rd time. any input on roof flashing would be helpful. thank you
