deecee, when I was young, the paint was all lead based. A common bit of trivia then was that we knew the paint was dangerous but wouldn't hurt the casual user. Professional painters knew that they were subject to more problems since they dealt with it daily. The cure was to drink something to keep the lead moving through their systems, and beer seemed to fit this bill. Many of them self-medicated heavily.
With more emphasis of the health issues involving lead, a 6 pack anytime you get around paint seems even more appropriate. It may not have lead in it, but you don't want to take a chance.
Sure hope you recognize that I'm joking with that last paragraph. I've seen more bad come from grain alcohol than ever came from lead paint.
