fasteners for metal roofing

I'm considering installing my own metal 5v roof.

1. Will the screws go through the metal using a drill only? (It seems there should be some kind of pilot hole)

2. Does the flashing for the eve provide a "lap" to prevent air, water, etc from getting under the metal roof?

3. I'm going to install over the existing asphalt roof. It is in decent shape and is not leaking.
A. Should I use purlins?
B. Do I need additional vapor barrier since
the existing asphals is ok?
