Calcimite walls/ceiling in my parents home. We are pulling off wallpaper and finding this reddish/pink stuff they say is calcimite. Questions: Does that wash off??? Can you just paint a primer/sealer over it and then paint? Would it be safe for younger children to help pull off the wallpaper if they want to help or is this not a safe thing to let them do?
