Okay, so truss lift has been determined the culprit and now we know what the builder should have done to reduce the affect. But since the precautions had not been done during construction, what can a homeowner do now to reduce the affects truss lift has during season changes? My client has a problem with a 16 month old house where this has occurred twice in that period. The more serious crack is 1/4" wide in places and her sons bedroom door will not close. I've recommended a structural engineer to confirm the truss lift and to propse a fix, if there is one. What do you recommend.
