I have gone all the way around my 65year old homeremoved the dirt down to the drain tile and repaired and or replaced bad mortar and repaired any cracks. I then put the dirt back in and regraded it. On the worst(leak wise) wall I added the steps of putting a tar like sealant on the wall as well, then graded the area that was not near the door and added stone nearest the doorway. When the snow in the backyard melted I had water coming in at the level of the bottom block right to the floor. Will putting the concrete sidewalk, with the felt/plastic buffer against yhe house help? I might add that this is a city lot and all the property behind us is running downhill towards our property.
