We've had our silestone kitchen for nine months
and love it. It's stronger, more durable and of
consistent color than other products of competitive
price. It has withstood dropping a hot frying pan
but I wouldn't recommend repeat performances. It
is heat resistant but not heat proof.
Any top will chip at its weakest point,the edges,
especially if they are right angles. Our installer
recommended a beveled edge to minimize this.
I'd recommend it for any kitchen.

Even a diamond edge will chip if struck by a
diamond edged tool. That's how diamonds are cut.
