I have been using these on an entertainment armoir. They are much better than the kiddie latches you mentioned. I got 1pair at a "Earthquake Supply Store" in Redwood City, CA unfortunately they closed before we could get more to replace the kiddie locks. Finally I found this site and IIRC they are half the price we paid in Redwood City with white as a new color option(have brown now).
